We mixed a little bit of work and play as we headed down south for a little Heuvel adventure… and an adventure it was!!!! We couldn’t even make it down there before we hit a few bumps in the road… We got the news that the grapevine was closed because of snow as we listened to the not so sweet sound of screaming tired kiddos… we then shortly realized that Ryder is actually car sick… He power puked in the car as the snow came down. We had to pull over and strip him down and clean him up pretty much in the snow… and all we could do is laugh! I was so thankful to make is safely so we could get to enjoying our trip!
These little escapes are so good for the heart and mind… it is so good to get away and laugh… and create memories! Create the stories that we will talk about for the years to come! We spent a couple of days with our sweet friends in Newport/ San Clemente… They put up with our kiddos craziness and I loved being there with them! My heart is so thankful for their treasured friendship… the kind that last for years through different seasons of life… but the kind that is full of genuine authenticity. My heart craves for that kind of real friendship… and I am so thankful to have it! Who knew that when we met in our college dorm and became debate partners… that our friendship would mean so much. It is good to get away!!!
So this is the play portion of the trip… and No family trip would be complete without the pictures to prove how much fun we had… and I love every one of these! Jared and I had the awesome opportunity to go to a photography workshop put on by another one of our dear photographer friends… on Coronado Island and I can’t wait to share those with you later this week!
